Seminole County Clerk of Courts and Comptroller returns $325,879.26 in surplus Clerk funds to the Board of County Commissioners
Clerk Maloy returned $325,879.26 in surplus Clerk funds to the Board of County Commissioners. This exceeded the amount anticipated by the County Commission in its approved budget. Even though there have been major upgrades throughout the office, efficiencies that Clerk Maloy has implemented have made it possible to return the savings to the taxpayers.
The Clerk's office has also historically subsidized the Comptroller expenses that should be paid for by the Seminole County Florida Commission with Clerk revenue. This makes the Seminole County Comptroller office the lowest funded Comptroller office per capita, when compared to similar counties in the state.
