Value Adjustment Board

The purpose of the Value Adjustment Board is to hear appeals regarding denied exemptions, petitions relating to assessments, and appeals concerning ad valorem tax deferrals.

How the VAB Works

The Department of Revenue has a Value Adjustment Board site on which they keep all relevant information for the unified, statewide processes and forms for Value Adjustment Boards.

The Seminole County Property Appraiser's office also has useful information about property taxes, tax exemptions and the VAB.

What to File

To file a petition you need to fill out a form. The right forms are available here, from the DoR site. You will file one of the DR-486 forms with our office; exactly which form depends on the type of petition.
