By RUSS WHITE Seminole County - When it comes to achievement in financial reporting, few counties can match Seminole County's record. For the 16th consecutive year the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded Seminole County the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. For the 18th consecutive year, Seminole County Finance Director Robert Wilson, also received the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement. "It's easy to take this award for granted - 16 years in a row, three different clerks, three different administrations." Seminole County Clerk of the Circuit Court Maryanne Morse said. "But the effort the county finance staff makes every day is anything but ordinary." The annual financial report includes statements of revenues and expenditures, balance sheets and an independent audit opinion of all funds managed by county government including the Board of County Commissioners, the Clerk of the Court, The Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, Sheriff and Supervisor of Elections.
"There's a lot of hard work, under sometimes trying circumstances and deadline pressures, makes this all look easy and all of us look good," Morse said.
