Clerk of the Month Award - August, 2001 - Donna King

August 2001

August 2001 Clerk of the Month

Donna King
Domestic Relations
Hire date: February 23, 1998

Donna has been with the clerk’s office and the domestic relations department for three years. Initially, Donna was assigned to our caseworker area, but recently is assisting with the domestic violence suits that are filed.

During her time with this office, she has excelled in all areas required of those who meet the criteria for Deputy Clerk of the Month. Donna is both efficient and professional with the public and always congenial and willing to assist her co-workers.

Our department (county civil/small claims) works with Donna in respect to the domestic relations injunction hearings. Two clerks are needed for each judge who hears injunctions. Sometimes they split the docket three ways, and we need six clerks to cover court. We are a small department with only three trial clerks and five county judges, so when we need help with injunctions, we turn to domestic relations.

Donna has learned quickly how to do both the copying and the minutes for the injunctions. She really is a big help to us when we need it. We understand that she has had many quarters with perfect attendance in her department and that she readily contributes good ideas to the department. It is always a good quality in a deputy clerk to get with others, to be helpful, and to be willing to learn new things even if that means in another department other than your own. We feel that she does all this and, therefore, is a good candidate for Deputy Clerk of the Month.
